The estate is located at the foot of Mont Ventoux in Pernes les Fontaines in the Vaucluse.
In 2011, the vineyard began a conversion to Organic Agriculture under the leadership of Nancy and Alexandra Gontier.
Today, all wines, dried vegetables and olive oil are certified “Biological”.

THE STORY
First dedicated to silkworm breeding in the 19th century, the property houses vegetable crops until after the Second World War.
Then, Mr. Fernand Gontier, a new purchaser, created a centre for the clônal propagation of the vine for the wine nursery in 1960. His son, Pierre Gontier, took over and developed the production of wine grapes and then vinification of them, with the construction of his particular cellar in 1993. It produces wines in AOP Ventoux and Vines wines.
HISTORY OF FAMILY
In 2004, the third generation arrived with Nancy Gontier, Pierre's second daughter. She takes over the rest of the family business and creates with her husband, Hugues Marrec, chef de cuisine, an oeno-touristic activity including guest rooms and an inn, held by her husband. In 2010, his eldest sister, Alexandra, joined the wine-producing company to develop sales to individuals, creating a privileged link between wine lovers and the estate.

A COMMITTED DOMAINE
In addition to being a vineyard in organic farming, the Camarette estate is involved in various associations with environmental impact.
The association « Femmes Vignes Rhône », founded in 2004 by Anne Hugues and supported by Inter Rhône, brings together professional women active in the wine industry of the Rhône Valley. From vineyards to sommelier, to marketing and communication posts, they strive to promote the role of women in a traditionally male sector. This diverse community promotes constructive cooperation and exchange, creating a positive environment for women working in wine, focusing on collaboration rather than rivalry.
With the approach "Rendez-Vous Terroirs", a selection of winemakers and winemakers from the vineyards of the Rhône Valley are committed to receiving visitors in the best conditions of reception, tasting and for some of the vineyard visits. With respect for 89 criteria, this approach offers visitors the guarantee of a successful experience, whether for a wine purchase or a more complete oenotouristic experience
France Passion is a network that allows travellers in camping-car and van equipped to stay free of charge with local producers such as winemakers, farmers and craftsmen. In exchange for an annual membership, members can access a list of reception sites across France, where they can spend a night safely and enjoy the authenticity of the French campaign. It is an opportunity to discover regions while supporting local producers and promoting sustainable tourism.

We had the chance to celebrate our wedding on August 19, 2023 at the Domaine de la Camarette. Thanks to Nancy and Hugues, we had a memorable day! The estate is a true cocoon nestled among the vineyards. We were able to celebrate our secular ceremony under the plane trees with a magnificent view of Mount Ventoux. In the evening we enjoyed a delicious aperitif and meal in a courtyard that reflects all the charm of Provence. We gave an additional challenge for the menu we wanted without meat or dairy products. And the challenge was raised hand-in-hand!! Fresh, local products, refined and delicious dishes, everyone enjoyed it! I think we rarely ate as well! The wines of the estate were perfectly blended with these dishes. Accommodation in the estate was perfect for us, having guests who came from far away. We keep a wonderful memory of our day, of the kindness of all those who participated in the service, and of the day in general, as well as of all their beautiful attentions. Thank you all again!
